Nearly 150 of the most highly trained firefighters in the world make up the Hanford Fire Department.  The Hanford Fire Department is operated by the Mission Support Alliance for the Department of Energy.

There are four fire stations located throughout the Hanford Site.  Hanford Fire has a number of activities within its scope of work including emergency medical treatment of sick and injured individuals, control and extinguishment of fires, stabilization and control of hazardous materials incidents, education, and fire protection testing, inspection, and maintenance to minimize potential property loss.
