Emergency Preparedness

AdvanceMed Hanford (AMH) supports the Hanford Site emergency preparedness program by:

  • Participating in Site drills, exercises, scenario planning activities and responding to actual events
  • Providing medical expertise for radiological, chemical, and biological injuries and illnesses
  • Providing critical stress debriefing and hostage negotiations
  • Providing risk communication services 
     

AMH management and staff also support the local, state and federal medical communities by: 

  • Attending community meetings, seminars and other networking opportunities
  • Identifying, developing, and offering, in conjunction with the DOE, specialized training to community medical organizations
  • Establishing and maintaining medical points of contact
  • Supporting DOE and the local hospitals in medical care and treatment arrangements for Hanford workers involved in emergency events
