Weight Management Program

Weight Management is a 5-week class designed to give participants the tools, motivation and support to make the lifestyle changes necessary to reach and maintain healthy body weight.  A weekly education topic will provide a better understanding of nutrition and the body.  Participants will also receive handouts of information on calorie counting, food journaling and educational topics to provide additional guidance throughout the class.  Health Educators will provide weekly weigh-in and body composition tests, and offer the opportunity for one-on-one individualized feedback.

Series Topics covered
Week 1 Goal setting, calorie needs, meal distribution, understanding food labels, and food journaling
Week 2 Carbohydrates and fiber
Week 3 Protein and fat
Week 4 Exercise
Week 5 Weight-related chronic disease prevention
