South towards Rattlesnake Mountain (Photo by John Smith). This picture was taken from 222-S looking South towards Rattlesnake Mt. It is the start of the system that hit us yesterday afternoon. We watched it develop for a couple of minutes and then it seemed that the bottom dropped out of the cloud! As the downburst hit the ground, is spread out starting as a huge wind followed by a downpour of rain. 30 minutes later, the wind had stopped, the sun was out, and it was rather pleasant.
