These transuranic (TRU) waste drums are currently held in a storage area in central Hanford – the 200 West Area. The Recovery Act will fund shipping and two additional repackaging lines at Hanford’s T Plant for repacking of transuranic waste in preparation for shipment to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico beginning July 2009.
