The impact of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act on hiring and the labor force was a key topic at the meeting, which was called Hanford Summit: Environmental Roundtable. Twenty-four lawmakers from six states attended. The purpose of the roundtable was to familiarize state law-makers on the issues and challenges facing cleanup of former nuclear weapons production sites.
