End State Vision
The Tri-Party agencies (U.S. Department of Energy at Hanford, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Washington State Department of Ecology) have formed an inter-agency working group called an Interagency Management Integration Team (IAMIT) working group to assist in developing a clear picture of the Hanford Site when cleanup is complete. The picture will include the three dimensions of surface, soil, and groundwater; it will include structures, operations or waste left on site, as well as contamination sources, pathways, expectations for land use and institutional controls at the conclusion of cleanup at Hanford. This page includes links to the IAMIT working group charter that describes the scope of their work, some of most important documents that support and provide background for the End State initiative (see Background Material), as well as an e-mailbox to send your questions or comments. Public involvement is critical for the agencies to determine this vision and you are invited to participate in upcoming workshops to give us your input (see Public Involvement Schedule). |
