Subject: DQO training
I am writing you to convey my appreciation for the Inter-tribal Environmental
Council (ITEC) sponsored Data Quality Objective and Visual Sample Plan
training which I attended March 12th through the 19th in Norman, Oklahoma.
I found the training very engaging, specifically the hands on activities.
The instructor was quite competent in the presentation of DQO process,
thereby elevating my own analytical thinking as it relates to my duties
as an environmental director. It is critical that the DQO process is
employed for the generation of defensible environmental data. This training
provided the tools (such as the VSP software) and instructions, which
increased my confidence level relative to the work I am involved in.
It is my hope that this training could be offered annually and extended
into a longer training session. There are many Tribal Environmental
Directors in my area who have not been exposed to this meaningful and
comprehensive DQO process training. A longer training session would
allow more one-to-one interactions with the instructor where site specific
issues could be addressed.
Sincerely,
Thomas Ward, Environmental
Director
