DOE EH-31 DQO/DQA Training
Course Evaluations and Commendations - Day 1
Evaluation from Cliff J. Kirchmer, Ph. D.,
Quality Assurance Officer, Washington State Department of Ecology
June 6, 2000
Thanks again for coming to Ecology and offering the training workshop on "Managing Uncertainty
for Environmental Decision Making". The training materials are first class and your presentations were very professional. The participants were
all very impressed and appreciative. I am compiling the results of our evaluations and can send them to you if you are interested. Much interest
was expressed in the ERC DQO Web Page and particularly in the electronic templates and the Visual Sampling Plan. The VSP is a unique tool that
allows for real time evaluation of sampling alternatives.
As discussed, we hope you can come again this year to provide a detailed 2 day training
course on how to implement the DQO process for technical staff. Meanwhile I hope to continue discussions with you on other issues of concern ,
such as the effects of errors on decision making and the application of statistics to the validation of performance based measurement systems.
