Program Structure
  • The DOE-RL Cultural Resources Program is responsible for managing the cultural and historic resources located on the Hanford Site. Program responsibilities include overarching program policy & direction as well as interfacing with the public and tribal communities.

The DOE-RL Cultural Resources Program is supported by two prime contracts:

  • Mission Support Alliance, LLC (MSA) provides DOE-RL Cultural Resources Program with support to meet program goals and missions on the Hanford Site. Additionally, MSA provides regulatory compliance services, on behalf of DOE-RL, for several of the Hanford Site contractors and sub-contractors including Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company (CHPRC), Washington River Protection Solutions LLC (WRPS) & Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP).

  • Hanford cultural resources staff works closely with project personnel to assure that cultural resources are protected and preserved. Additionally, DOE-RL and cultural resources staff work closely with Tribes and other interested parties to consider effects and address potential impacts that projects may have on cultural resources.
