The U.S. Department of Energy under the under the auspices of the Cultural Resources Program (CRP), is responsible for managing the cultural and historic resources located on the Hanford Site. Participants include the U.S. DOE Federal Preservation Office, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP), Tribal Nations, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, other Government agencies, and the public. Therefore, consultation and communication are key parts to the program.
