The Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) Team, comprised of globally-known and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)-trusted partners, offers Hanford Solutions through Mission Integration. HMIS introduces innovations and efficiencies which ensure safety, deliver site integration, streamline processes, deliver cost savings, and cultivate collaboration pursuant to the Hanford mission. The HMIS overarching technical approach allows for capabilities to not only deliver mission support services, but simultaneously and proactively engage and anticipate customer needs, navigate site complexities, balance priorities and build consensus among the multiple, diverse perspectives and interests of organizations, community and contractors – all in close collaboration with DOE in support of end state goals. Tri-Cities STEM Competition Employees regularly volunteer with Second Harvest Tri-Cities to help sort and provide food to those in need in our community. Regional educational outreach programs Tri-Cities regional purchasing programs Tri-Cities community support The STEM Competition at the 2018 Connect Tri-Cities honored the top three teams with scholarships totaling $20,000 In partnership with DOE, we will demonstrate how Hanford is invested in the community through: • Regional educational outreach programs • Regional purchasing programs • Community support HMIS leaders have more than 160 years living in the Tri-Cities area, and the HMIS is committed to the communities where we live and work. The HMIS Team commits to provide a structured approach and proven management processes to ensure diverse small and disadvantaged business participation, proactive local community outreach, and achievement of DOE small business goals. HMIS pledges to subcontract 40% of the total contract value with 55% of that value going to small business. Providing a proactive corporate-led Small Business Development Program, augmented by HMIS small business advocacy, responsible for marketing and outreach/awareness activities, such as trade show participation and matchmaking events, and providing training to buyers on how to engage small businesses Foster strategic relationships with small businesses that lead to subcontracting as well as prime contracting opportunities Providing training and business development assistance to small businesses – particularly minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned small businesses to help them acquire the tools to grow and succeed.
