Proposed Changes to the Tri-Party Agreement
This is a message from the Tri-Party Agreement agencies
The Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies – the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) – are holding a 45-day public comment period on proposed changes to the TPA. The proposed changes would update the TPA to reduce redundancy through improved coordination between two regulatory processes for cleanup decision-making: the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
The public comment period is from Oct. 14 to Nov. 29, 2019, but no public meeting has been scheduled on these proposed changes. To request a public meeting, please contact Jennifer Colborn by Oct. 25, at (509) 376-5840.
Please submit any comments by Nov. 29 to CoordinatedClosure@rl.gov or by mail to:
U.S. Department of Energy

Copies of the proposed changes and supporting documentation are available online during the public comment period in the Hanford Administrative Record and in the Hanford Public Information Repositories.
