The U.S. Department of Energy Richland Operations Office (DOE-RL), Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology), and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – the Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies – are proposing changes to the TPA. These proposed changes affect the schedule for completing cleanup work on the Hanford Central Plateau and the 300 Area.
The proposed changes set new dates for completing work on the Central Plateau that is identified in the M-015, M-016, M-037, M-085, and M-094 milestone series. These milestone series deal with completing investigation of Central Plateau waste sites, issuing cleanup decisions, implementing cleanup decisions for waste sites and canyon facilities, completing cleanup of specified units, and completing cleanup of the 300 Area. For more information on these milestones and proposed changes, please see the attached fact sheet.
The agencies want your feedback on these proposed milestone changes before they are finalized. You can provide input during the public comment period being held October 26 through December 11, 2015. In addition, public meetings to discuss the proposed changes and take public comments are planned at the following dates and locations:
