Notice of Public Comment Period and Hybrid Meeting
Proposed New Milestones Drive Final Cleanup Process
The Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies — U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Washington State Department of Ecology — are holding a 60-day public comment period on proposed new TPA milestones that collectively address the cleanup of soil, groundwater and legacy facilities at the Hanford Site.
The proposed new milestones will be implemented using an adaptive approach. The adaptive approach includes regularly evaluating and prioritizing site activities, which improves communication and allows for a more nimble, efficient and effective cleanup process.
The 60-day public comment period runs from Dec. 10, 2025 - Feb. 8, 2026. A public meeting will be held Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m. PT at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Drive. To participate in the meeting via Microsoft Teams, please follow the instructions below:
