Agreement on new commitments for Hanford tank waste cleanup sent to federal judge
The U.S. Department of Energy and Washington State Department of Ecology jointly filed a motion today in U.S. District Court asking the court to approve and enter a judicial consent decree that imposes a new, enforceable, and achievable schedule for cleaning up waste from Hanford’s underground tanks.

Groundwater Protection Enhanced with Record Number of Wells Drilled
Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funding, the U.S. Department of Energy and its prime contractor CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company, have drilled a record high 273 wells in fiscal year 2010 at the Hanford Site.
